Korean Announcers Go Crazy for Yankees Home Runs

The newly-installed youth on the 2017 New York Yankees baseball team has energized their play and intrigued their fans.

Observers from outside of New York have felt their electricity as well.

In the fourth inning of the July 7 game versus the Milwaukee Brewers in The Bronx, Yankees’ 26-year-old first baseman Ji-Man Choi — in just his second game of his Yankee career — hit a go-ahead two-run home run to deep right field. Choi’s home run whipped the announcers of the Korean transmission of the game into a frenzy:

The same Korean announcers were also awed in the fifth inning by the record-setting 30th home fun of the year of rookie sensation Aaron Judge. His center field blast set the new Yankee rookie record for home runs in a single season, breaking the legendary Joe DiMaggio’s mark of 29 home runs in 1936.
