‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Pushed to May Launch on CBS All Access

'Good Wife' Spinoff Now Debuts in February on CBS Before Moving to CBS All Access

Star Trek: Discovery‘, the highly anticipated sci-fi series and next edition in the successful ‘Star Trek’ franchise, will debut exclusively on the digital platform CBS All Access in May 2017, as it was announced Wednesday. Originally scheduled for a January launch, the series’ creative team, which includes executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Bryan Fuller, requested the later debut date with the aim to achieve optimum quality for the show.

With the absence of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ for the winter, CBS All Access’ other notable series in production, the yet-untitled spinoff of ‘The Good Wife’ starring Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo in a reprisal of their ‘Good Wife’ roles, is now slated to premiere in February 2017 in lieu of a spring start. The Michelle and Robert King-produced law drama will get a linear launch on the CBS broadcast network before airing exclusively on CBS All Access.
