Sundance TV Announces Six Part Series ‘Liar’

Production to Begin in London and Kent in November

Sundance TV will air a six-part thriller called “Liar” from Two Brothers Pictures starring Joanne Froggatt (“Downton Abbey”) and Ioan Gruffudd (“Fantastic Four”). Created and written by BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams, “Liar” tells the story of a night that changes the lives of Laura Newell (Froggatt) and Andrew Ellis (Gruffudd) forever.

The scoop: Laura is a smart and dedicated teacher, not long out of a relationship and unsure about getting back on the dating scene. Andrew is a renowned surgeon whose son is a student at Laura’s school. An initial attraction leads to a date, but neither fully realizes the far-reaching consequences that their meeting will have on each other or their families. Truth and consequences go hand in hand in a tense and gripping thriller that examines both sides of a relationship and both sides of the truth. Are there really two sides to every story?

“Liar” will be executive produced by Harry and Jack Williams (“Fleabag,” “The Missing,” “One of Us”). Eliza Mellor (“The Living and the Dead”) will produce and Sam Donovan (“Humans,” “The Living and the Dead”) will direct episodes 4 to 6. Filming will begin in London and Kent in November.
