Sunday Final Nationals: Cowboys-Giants ‘Sunday Night Football’ Matchup on NBC Delivers Best NFL Week 14 Prime Time Audience in 27 Years

As evidenced each and every NFL season, and especially this season where they had won 11 consecutive games, the Dallas Cowboys brings increased TV ratings for the sport. Even with their 10-7 loss to division rival New York Giants, their presence on “Sunday Night Football” (26.5 million viewers) not only gave NBC another overwhelming Sunday prime time victory but drew the most viewers ever for a prime time game in a Week 14 of the NFL regular season since San Francisco-L.A. Rams on ABC’s “Monday Night Football” from Dec. 11 1989.

While still dominating the current cable landscape, AMC’s zombie drama “The Walking Dead” (10.58 million) drew its lowest fall finale audience in 3 years, according to live-plus-same day data.
