Syfy Renews Drama ‘The Magicians’ for Season Two

The Current Season to Conclude in April

Syfy has picked-up scripted drama “The Magicians” for a second season, with an order for 13 new episodes in 2017. Debuting on Dec. 16, 2015 and based on the novels of the same name by Lev Grossman, “The Magician” follows a man named Quentin Coldwater Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) who enrolls at Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy to be trained as a magician and discovers that the magical world from his favorite childhood books is real and poses a danger to humanity.

From Universal Cable Television, “The Magicians” is executive produced by John McNamara (“Aquarius”), Sera Gamble (“Supernatural”), Henry Alonso Myers (“Covert Affairs”) and Groundswell Productions’ Michael London and Janice Williams (“Milk”).
