TBS Orders New Comedy ‘People of Earth’

Ten Episodes Ordered of Conan O'Brien Produced Comedy

TBS has picked-up “People of Earth,” a new sitcom about a support group for alien abductees from executive producers Conan O’Brien, Greg Daniels (“Parks and Recreation”), Jeff Ross (“Conan”), David Kissinger (“Eagleheart”) and Larry Sullivan. Created by David Jenkins, “People of Earth” centers on a skeptical journalist (Wyatt Cenac), who investigates a support group to write about the member’s supposed alien encounters. The scoop: The more he digs into their oddball claims, the more he realizes a semblance of truth to their stories and possibly even signs that point to his own alien abduction. The onetime outsider now finds himself a part of this eclectic group of misfits, all the while struggling with the idea of knowing that life could exist beyond our world.

The cast of “People of Earth” includes Ana Gasteyer (“Saturday Night Live”), Oscar Nunez (“The Office”), Michael Cassidy (“Argo”), Alice Wetterlund (“The Interview”), Luka Jones (“The Campaign”), Brian Huskey (“Neighbors”), Nancy Lenehan (“The New Adventures of Old Christine”), Tracee Chimo (“Orange is the New Black”) and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“Selfie”). Ten episodes have been ordered.
