Thursday’s New York Yankees-Toronto Blue Jays Season Opener game averaged a 5.34 TV household rating in the New York TV market, making it YES Network’s highest-rated Yankees Season Opener in seven years, since 2011. The game telecast peaked during the 6:45-7:00 p.m. quarter-hour when it generated a 6.61 rating and 608,000 total viewers.
In the New York TV market, YES’ Yankees telecast out-rated last night’s primetime programming such as: Mom, Life in Pieces and S.W.A.T. on CBS; Will & Grace, Superstore, A.P. Bio and Chicago Fire on NBC; and Scandal and Station 19 on ABC. It also out-rated primetime sports programming such as the NBA on TNT, the MLB on ESPN and the NHL on NBC Sports Network.
YES’ Yankees pre-game show averaged a 1.55 TV household rating, while the network’s post-game show averaged a 2.12.
