Ratings Breakdown:
The live eviction show of “Big Brother” on CBS topped the roster of broadcast originals last night, scoring a reliable 3.7 rating/7 share in the household overnights in the 9 p.m. hour. On NBC, the double dose sophomore sitcom “Trial & Error” took a tumble, dipping to a 1.5/ 3 in the 9 p.m. half-hour and a 1.2/ 2 at 9:30 p.m. Comparably, both half-hours ranked a distant fourth in their respective time periods.

Elsewhere, sophomore Fox singing competition “The Four: Battle for Stardom” got a minor boost at a 2.4/ 5 in households from 8-10 p.m. And ABC featured its low-rated Thursday summer rotation of “The Gong Show” (#3: 1.9/ 3 at 8 p.m.), “The Match Game” (#3: 2.3/ 4 at 9 p.m.) and recently introduced drama “Take Two” (#2: 1.7/ 3 at 10 p.m.). Yes, I know…crunching summer overnights is a bore!
