Tucker Carlson to Replace Megyn Kelly on Fox News

Tucker Carlson, not surprisingly, will be moving into the 9 p.m. ET weeknight hour on Fox News in the wake of Megyn Kelly’s departure to NBC News. Martha MacCallum, meanwhile, will step in for Carlson at 7 p.m. with a new news program called “The First 100 Days,” which will chronicle the beginning of the new administration and run through president-elect Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. The moves will go into effect this Monday, Jan. 9.

“In less than two months, Tucker has taken cable news by storm with his spirited interviews and consistently strong performance,” Rupert Murdoch, Executive Chairman of 21st Century Fox said in a statement. “Viewers have overwhelmingly responded to the show and we look forward to him being a part of Fox News’ powerful primetime line-up.”

The announcement of Martha MacCallum’s show, of course, is only temporary at the moment.
