Ratings Breakdown:

It was all about NBC as a result of the final live “America’s Got Talent” performance show, which rose to a hefty 8.9 rating/15 share in households from 8-10 p.m. In a season chock full of stellar talent, my pick to win the $1 million tonight is the amazing Darcy Lynne Farmer. The “America’s Got Talent” season-ender this evening competes with the two-hour “Big Brother” finale on CBS. For more on “Big Brother,” click here

Airing out of “America’s Got Talent” was 10 p.m. special “The Paley Center Salutes the Best of Will & Grace” (#2: 3.4/ 7), which dipped by a hefty 63 percent from the 9:30 p.m. portion of “AGT” (9.2/15). Personally speaking, I don’t think the return of “Will & Grace” will warrant the interest NBC is counting on.

Also at 10 p.m. was the season (or series) finale of ABC drama “Somewhere in Time” at a ,ere 1.4/ 3. I would not count on a second season. Elsewhere, the remainder of the evening was in repeats.

Fans of NBC’s “This is Us”: just six days until the sophomore season premiere. For my Q&A with “This is Us” producer and director Ken Olin, click here

  1. I think Will & Grace will be alright, this was just a Paley special they don’t always move the needle but it did well to me for something that I don’t remember being promoted only the season premiere was promoted when I was watching NBC in the past two weeks. I believe W&G will do okay or the best for an NBC comedy in years when it actually premieres next Thursday.
