-Ratings Breakdown:
The overall metered market (overnight) averages and individual program results on this final Tuesday of January are all estimated, of course, due to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address.

CBS opened the evening on a dominant note care of special “Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2018” at a 4.8 rating/8 share in households in the 8 p.m. hour. But its advantage over competing “Ellen’s Game of Games” on NBC (#2: 4.6/ 8) was only two-tenths of a rating point (or 4 percent). Next in the time period were two episodes of ABC sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” at an average 2.6/ 4, followed by a repeat of “Lethal Weapon” on Fox (#4: 2.0/ 3) and “The Flash” on The CW (1.9/ 3).

Recently introduced “Black Lightning” on The CW remains a compatible fit out of “The Flash” with a 1.6/ 2 in the household overnights at 9 p.m. Comparably, that held 84 percent of its “The Flash” lead-in, and it bested year-ago time period occupant “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow” (1.2/ 2 on 1/31/17) by 33 percent.

Keeping in mind again that this is estimated, overnight results for President Trump’s State of the Union Address from 9-10:30 p.m. are as follows:

NBC: 4.4/ 7, CBS: 4.3/ 7, ABC: 3.5/ 5, Fox: 2.6/ 4

Combined that was a 14.8 rating/23 share on the broadcast networks. Stayed tuned later today for a total viewer tally on all the outlets airing the address.

The analysis of the State of the Union Address on the Big 3 networks in the 10:30 p.m. half-hour are as follows:
