  1. Great article and review Marc on Superior Donuts I am really loving that show right now. I watched last week’s episode 3 times the only other comedy I’ve done that with this season was Will & Grace. I missed a lot of SD last season but based on what I’m seeing this season this is already a great show that mirrors the comedies from the past back in the 70s. This show has a great cast and the new addition Diane Guerrero as Sofia was perfect casting she gives Judd Hirsch and Jermaine Fowler’s characters someone to play off of every week. Katey Sagal is sexy as a Chicago cop as well too.

The show overall has a mix of so many 70s shows especially the workplace ones like Judd’s Taxi but it overalls mirrors a lot of Cheers too. Unlike a lot of new comedies from the past decade it gets better and better each episode. I am very glad it went up this week it deserves it although CBS made a great move putting the BBT repeat in front of it to get its ratings up this week.

As for Kevin Can Wait man the show is on fire right now, the haters still gonna hate but the show is stable every week ratings wise and quality wise it has gotten way better as I hate the way it opened this season. I was even debating after the 3rd or 4th episode if I was gonna keep watching but episode 5 is what changed everything for me because they got back to the basics like Will & Grace did for its revival. Going back to the basics to me always made TV sitcoms more appealing because it’s just simple and funny. Kevin in that toy store with Vanessa (Leah Remini) was laugh out loud hilarious. So the last 3 episodes have been really great and easily the best of the series.

9JKL is getting better as well, people wanted to hate this show starting off but its actually gotten way better quality wise. Also Valor is a show I recommend last month because I do feel like its the best of the new military dramas. Good to see Valor up this week as well.

    • I am not much in to CBS comedies. I am of the belief CBS needs to condense this hour down to one hour of CBS comedies instead of two. When they broke the flow a while back and pushed Scorpion to 10PM (which ruined its ratings) it has never been the same again.

      • They haven’t found a hit show there since BBT. That’s what broke the flow more than any other programming decision.

      • I just got back into CBS comedies last year because of Kevin Can Wait and I started watching Mom a little more in syndication this fall. They got some nice comedies though that’s the way NBC needs to be in the future around Will & Grace.

Yeah I think CBS definitely messed things up by moving Scorpion from 9pm to 10pm. Really the Monday problems started way back when CBS expanded a 2nd block to Thursdays and moved BBT over there that’s where all of their comedy viewers went to. Mondays were traditionally a powerhouse night for CBS for decades when it came to comedies and then The Voice and DWTS became too much for them.

        • On Monday, CBS has the same problem as the rest of the industry on most nights. It can’t find a hit to save its network…

When your last comedy hit is 10 years old, your schedule is bound to develop holes…

          • CBS has sprung a huge leak on Monday. I would trim the sitcom block to one hour and move Madam Secretary to 9 p.m.

  2. Yes my Detroit Lions won and they looked impressive doing it so finally I can be happy following the day of a Lions game for the first time in a month. I was a miserable son of a bitch last Monday but I’m over that Steelers loss now. GO LIONS!

  3. Um Error Marc. You put Lucifer on for two hours. It was one for one. The Gifted was one at 9PM.

Loving Lucifer this season. Gifted adjusted down in the finals so Lucifer and the Gifted are now pretty much pulling the same number with Lucifer ahead in viewers. Wooo. Anything that keeps my show on the air makes me happy LOL

ABC did a bone headed move putting that special on instead of a new Good Doctor.

  4. Another night, another rout for scripted shows. Must be because they’re all masterpieces… 🙁
