    2018 EDITION OF “SUPER BOWL’S GREATEST COMMERCIALS”

    UP SIGNIFICANTLY IN VIEWERS AND DEMOS VERSUS 2017

    · Last night’s 17th edition of SUPER BOWL’S GREATEST COMMERCIALS from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM was up a big +15% in viewers versus last year’s edition on January 31, 2017 (7.43m from 6.47m). The special was also up +21% in adults 25-54 (1.7 from 1.4), and +22% in adults 18-49 (1.1 from 0.9).

    · From 9:00 PM, CBS presented the STATE OF THE UNION address. Numbers for that portion of the evening will be provided by CBS N

    Tuesday Primetime Ratings:

    Due to inconsistent feed patterns across time zones, currently available fast-affiliate ratings are subject to significant adjustment in official nationals. Coverage of the State of the Union Address was sustaining and won’t be included in nightly or weekly networks averages.

    “Ellen’s Game of Games” (apprx. 1.8/7 in 18-49, 7.5 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET):

    · Is currently the #1 show in timeslot in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key category, pending updates

    · Is currently retaining 100% week to week in 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.8) and up +2% in total viewers (7.727 million vs. 7.571 million).

    · Is currently winning the timeslot in 18-49 by a +64% margin over CBS’ “Super Bowl Commercials 2018” (1.8 vs. 1.1).

    · Is growing from half-hour to half-hour in every key ratings measure, including a gain of +18% in adults 18-49 (1.7 to 2.0).

    · Will add viewership via time-shifting and VOD – last week “Game” grew by +16% in 18-49 (1.81 to 2.10) and +847,000 viewers overall (7.6 million to 8.4 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens.

    In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night:

    · In Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, household results were: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” 1.8/5; “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” 2.9/8; and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 2.3/6.

    · In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” 0.5/3; “Late Show,” 0.5/3; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 0.7/4.

    · From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC’s “Nightline” averaged a 1.7/6 in metered-market households and a 0.5/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

    · From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” 1.1/4 in metered-market households; CBS’s “Late Late Show,” 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: “Late Night,” 0.3/2 in 18-49; “Late Late Show,” 0.2/2.

    · At 1:35 a.m., “Last Call with Carson Daly” averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

    NOTE: Primetime results are based on “fast affiliate time period” data from Nielsen Media Research. All ratings are “live plus same day” unless otherwise indicated.

    Nearly seven million viewers watched CBS News’ team coverage of President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union Address, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 30.

    The network delivered 6.99 million viewers and a 1.7 rating with adults 25-54 (up +6% from President Trump’s address to Congress last year). By comparison, NBC was down -22% with adults 25-54, while ABC was off -12% in the demographic desired most by those who advertise in news.

    CBS News’ coverage was anchored by CBS THIS MORNING co-hosts Norah O’Donnell, John Dickerson and Gayle King from New York and CBS EVENING NEWS anchor Jeff Glor from the U.S. Capitol. CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett; CBS News chief congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes and CBS News White House and senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan reported for the primetime network coverage as well as all CBS News platforms.

    CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news service, kicked off the evening’s coverage at 5:00 PM with CBSN anchor Elaine Quijano and CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY co-host Alex Wagner anchoring from New York with extensive reporting from CBS News’ political reporters and contributors in D.C. and local journalists around the country. CBSN also simulcast CBS News primetime coverage.
