Verne Lundquist Calls His Final College Football Game

Legendary sports announcer Verne Lundquist called the final college football telecast of his career on Dec. 10, 2016 where Army defeated Navy 21-17 in Baltimore, Md. on CBS. It was Army’s first victory over Navy since 2001.

Here’s Lundquist’s final college football touchdown call:

Lundquist took a few minutes at the conclusion of the telecast to share his gratitude to those he has worked with and to all those who’ve watched his announcing throughout his career:

Brad Nessler will assume the lead play-by-play announcer job for college football at CBS beginning in 2017. Lundquist will still do announcing for NCAA men’s basketball games during March Madness and for professional golf at The Masters.
