‘The Walking Dead’ Closes Season with 18.4 Million Viewers

Third Most-Watched Episode of the Season

“The Walking Dead” on AMC closed the sixth season with 18.4 million viewers and 11.5 million adults 18-49 on Sunday, April 3, based on the Live + 3-Day data (which includes 3-days of DVR usage). The episode, a 90-minute installment titled “Last Day on Earth,” is also expected to generate more than one million additional digits views.

Comparably, this is now the fourth season in a row that “The Walking Dead” has finished as the most popular series on television in the demo. Sunday’s finale increased from its same-day averages by 30 percent in total viewers (14.2 to 18.4 million) and 32 percent in adults 18-49 (6.9 to 9.1 rating).

Lead-out post-discussion series “Talking Dead” concluded the season with 7.4 million viewers and a 3.5 rating in adults 18-49 in L+3.
