Wednesday Final Nationals: No Great First Impression for ‘Second Chance’ on Fox

In a close battle for the total viewers crown on Wednesday night among CBS, NBC and Fox, it was NBC that emerged victorious with 7.84 million total viewers.

Fox took key demos honors thanks to “American Idol”. However, their new drama “Second Chance” did not take well advantage of its “Idol” lead-in, retaining just 48 percent of each total viewers and adults 18-49, 44 percent of adults 18-34 and 47 percent of adults 25-54.

The season finale of FX’s “American Horror Story: Hotel” starring freshly-minted Golden Globe Award winner Lady Gaga scored the night’s best adults 18-49 delivery (1.15 rating) among all cable entries.

  1. How long will Fox leave Second Chance in that slot before they pull it? Any guesses?

Coven still ranks as the highest rated American Horror Story season. I enjoyed Hotel more so than I did Freak Show

  2. Visitors requesting ratings are only allowed a MAXIMUM of TWO shows per query. You cannot make additional requests until the prior ones you had made are addressed.

With the exception of broadcast network half-hours, time-block requests will not be answered. Requests also won’t be fulfilled for a network’s show rankings nor telecasts of marathons longer than two-hour periods.

Please note Programming Insider will not answer any request for a show’s ratings prior to November 16, 2015. If you are requesting prior dates’ numbers from Nov. 16 or later, you MUST post your query as a comment at that respective date’s ratings page via http://programminginsider.com/category/ratings/

  3. Do you have both episodes of ‘Master P’s Family Empire’ (Reelz, 9pm & 10pm) <– I don't know if that counts as 1 or 2 requests, but if it only counts as 1, could I also have 'Sound FX' (NFL Network)? Thank you!

    • Master P’s Family Empire (Reelz, 1/13 10:00-10:30 p.m.) 137,000 viewers, 0.06 adults 18-49 rating

      Master P’s Family Empire (Reelz, 1/13 10:30-11:00 p.m.) 136,000 viewers, 0.05 adults 18-49 rating

Sound FX: Wild Card Playoff (NFL Network, 1/13 10:30-11:00 p.m.) 181,000 viewers, 0.06 adults 18-49 rating

    • Star Wars Rebels (DXD, 1/13 9:30-10:00 p.m.) 252,000 viewers, 0.04 adults 18-49 rating

      Gravity Falls (DXD, 1/13 10:00-10:30 p.m.) 263,000 viewers, 0.04 adults 18-49 rating

      Gravity Falls (DXD, 1/13 10:30-11:00 p.m.) 314,000 viewers, 0.04 adults 18-49 rating

    • None of the premium digital subchannels are rated by Nielsen. Do you know what aired on that network at that time?

      • It was, “A Little Curious.” I didn’t know that they weren’t rated by Nielsen though. 🙁

      • Ok then you can ignore all of the L3 requests. Do you get alerts about the other pages I requested numbers on from yesterday and today?
