    Household Rating/Share
    CBS: 3.6/ 6, NBC and Fox: 2.8/ 5 each, ABC: 1.8/ 3, CW: 0.6/ 1

    Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening
    CBS and CW: +20 each, Fox: +12, ABC: + 6, NBC: -12

    -Ratings Breakdown:
Led by two episodes of medical drama “Code Black” (which CBS may want to reverse its decision on canceling), the Eye topped this first Wednesday of the unofficial summer season in the household overnights. “Code Black” only fluctuated by two-tenths of a household rating point from 9-11 p.m. ET, with a dominant 4.2 rating/7 share in the 9 p.m. hour and an also first-place 4.0/ 7 from 10-11 p.m. That 4.0 household rating at 10 p.m. bested the series premiere of NBC drama “Reverie” (#2: 1.9/ 3) by 111 percent. Since most new dramas drop by 10 to 20 percent in week two, I would not get too used to “Reverie.”

In the battle of the two-hour season premieres, “American Ninja Warrior” on NBC (3.2/ 6) outdelivered competing “MasterChef” on Fox (2.8/ 5) by 14 percent. And both series were close to year-ago season opening levels.

Also new last night was soon-to-conclude “The Originals” on The CW at a 0.7/ 1 at 9 p.m. (out of a 0.6/ 1 for an encore telecast of “Supergirl” at 8 p.m.). The rest of the evening was all repeats.

    4. Code Black is my favorite show. It just keeps getting better. I think if more people knew about it, it would get better ratings. Marcia and team kill it every week! Please, please, so not cancel this show.

    5. Absolutely renew. Quit futzing around with pulling it off air for weeks at a time or putting it on in spring. The cast is a fantastic ensemble. One of my favorite shows!

    6. There is a reason Code Black was #1. It is an actual entertaining show. Who wants to watch a bunch of back stabbing idiots like Survivor or Big Brother? CBS, you are so stupid!

    7. Why are you canceling this show? It shows people helping one another instead or all the violence! Save this show!

    8. CODE BLACK IS THE BEST MEDICAL DRAMA SHOW THAT REVEALS WHAT IT IS REALLY LIKE IN EMERGENCY ROOMS AND IN THE FIELD AND NOT A SOAP OPERA VERSION LIKE MANY OF THE OTHER MEDICAL DRAMA SHOWS. PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION TO DROP THIS SHOW.

    9. I have worked for a group of emergency physicians for 18 years and my husband was an emergency physician assistant for 30 yrs. In a screaming busy ER. We love the realism of this show. We are glued to our seats thru the entire episode. Kudos to everyone who put this show together. The ER is the focus of this show and the personal relationships, while interesting, are second but well integrated. Wish you would reconsider!
