CBS' Veteran 'Survivor' Tops the Night

What follows are the metered market (overnight) results in households by network and by half-hour for Wednesday, December 6, 2017:

Ratings Breakdown:
With two-thirds of CBS’ primetime line-up in repeats, Fox led the Wednesday household overnights care of dramas “Empire” (#2: 4.5 rating/8 share at 8 p.m.) and “Star” (#2: 3.2/ 5 at 9 p.m.). While Fox will win the 8 p.m. hour in adults 18-49 (and all the key demo groups), “Empire” trailed competing “Survivor” on CBS (#1 for the night: 5.4/ 9) by 17 percent in the household overnights. “Survivor” concludes this current addictive edition with a two-hour telecast next Wednesday, followed by the live reunion show.

Airing out of “Survivor” last night were encore telecasts of dramas “SEAL Team” (#4: 2.8/ 5) and “Criminal Minds” (#3: 2.3/ 4) from 9-11 p.m.

In the specials department was the “Golden Globe 75th Anniversary Special” on NBC at a 3.3/ 6 from 9-11 p.m. For a listing of the current Golden Globe nominees, which will be presented live at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 7, click here

Earlier in the evening on NBC was a repeat of game show “The Wall” at a fourth-place 2.3/ 4 from 8-9 p.m.

Elsewhere, ABC was at typical Wednesday overnight levels care of its line-up of 8-10 p.m. sitcoms “The Goldbergs” (#3: 3.9/ 7), “Speechless” (#3: 3.0/ 5), “Modern Family” (#1: 4.0/ 7) and “American Housewife” (#2t: 3.1/ 5), followed by sophomore drama “Designated Survivor” at 10 p.m. (#2: 3.1/ 6).

The CW capped off the night with sophomore “Riverdale” (#5: 1.0/ 2), which is the youngest skewing series currently on the air, and recent entry “Dynasty” at a modest 0.5/ 1 at 9 p.m.
