Zayn Malik to Produce TV Drama ‘Boys’ About One Direction

Original Music Will Be Featured on Proposed Series

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik is teaming up with “Law & Order” creator and executive producer Dick Wolf to produce a proposed NBC drama about a boy band. The series, called “Boys,” will focus on the thrills and insane pressures of being young and getting catapulted into fame at a dizzying speed. According to the scoop, “Boys “captures all the excitement, competition and fun, but also takes an inside look into the pressure that come with the success.

In a statement, Zayn said, “Dick Wolf is a legend, and the opportunity to work with him and NBC to create a compelling drama series is awesome.”
NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke added, “On top of our excitement around the creative ideas being discussed, we have a lot of respect for the musical and digital ambitions behind the project.”

“Boys,” if it moves forward, is expected to debut in 2017.
