2022 Academy Award Nominations: ‘The Power of Dog’ Leads With 12 Nods

'Dune' Ranks Second With 10 Nominations; Followed by 7 Each for 'Belfast' and 'West Side Story'

Jane Campion western “The Power of the Dog”, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, led this year’s Oscar nominations with 12. Next was “Dune” with 10, followed by seven nominations each for “Belfast” and the revival of musical “West Side Story”, and six for “King Richard.” They will compete for Best Picture with “CODA”, “Don’t Look Up”, “Drive My Car”, “Licorice Pizza”, and “Nightmare Alley.”
“Meet The Ricardos”, which did not snag a Best Picture nod, did land nominations in the acting categories for Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman for Best Actor and Actress in a Leading Role, and J.K. Simmons for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

“The 94th Academy Awards” will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 27 at 8 p.m., ET. The host has not been announced at press time.
