In honor the Time’s Up campaign and the Women’s March events happening this weekend, the “24th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards” made a statement last night by having all of the awards presented by women. HBO’s “Veep” and NBC’s “This Is Us” were cited for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and a Drama Series, respectively. Sterling K. Brown was named Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for “This Is Us,” marking the first time a black actor has won in this category. And Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård of HBO’s “Big Little Lies” were victorious in the categories of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor and Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series. Morgan Freeman, meanwhile, was cited for Life Achievement.
