Daytime Emmy Awards 2016: And the Winners Were…

Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan Win for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host

ABC and CBS tied for the most number of wins at the 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards, with “General Hospital” named Outstanding Drama and CBS’ “The Talk” and “The Price is Right” named Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment and Outstanding Game Show, respectively. “General Hospital” was the most honored show of the evening with five trophies. But the category creating the most buzz was Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host, which went to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan just one week after the drama surrounding Strahan’s announced move to “Good Morning America.” Neither were on hand to accept the award.
