Regarding football video games, one name stands above the rest: FIFA! It’s one of the longest-running series from EA and has been the go-to choice for football fans looking to get their fix since 1994.
The series has consistently delivered an enjoyable and authentic experience that captures the essence of the sport through video game simulation.
The latest entry in the series, which was recently released on September 27, 2022, is FIFA 23, which is no different. It builds on the solid foundation laid by its predecessor and makes some much-needed improvements in critical areas.
The game is available on many platforms, which is why FIFA is loved by many, but that’s not all. Let’s take a closer look at what FIFA 23 has more to offer:
Graphics and Presentation
FIFA 23 looks and sounds great. The on-pitch action is smooth and realistic, and the player models are some of the best in the business. The new lighting engine creates a more natural look and an impressive visual package.
The menus and UI have also been given a bit of an overhaul and are now much easier to navigate. The new hub screen makes it easy to jump into the mode you want to play, and the presentation is top-notch.
Gameplay
FIFA 23’s gameplay is essentially unchanged from last year’s game, and that’s not necessarily bad, as the gameplay was already quite solid. That said, there are a few new additions and changes worth mentioning.
First up is the new agile dribbling system, which gives players more control when dribbling at speed. This makes it easier to take on defenders and helps open up the field for some fast-paced attacking play.
The other significant addition is the second-generation touch system, which completely changes how shooting works. It’s now possible to time your shots perfectly, and the result is some of the most realistic shooting in a video game.
FIFA Ultimate Team
FIFA Ultimate Team is the hugely popular online mode, and it’s back and better than ever in FIFA 23. A few additions are worth mentioning, such as co-op team play, position changes, and improved chemistry. These all add up to a more enjoyable and strategic FUT experience.
Of course, the biggest draw of FUT is still the ability to build your dream team, collect huge amounts of FUT coins, and rank up! Luckily in this game there’s no shortage of options when it comes to team building, with over 700 units and 17,000 players.
FIFA 23 is another solid entry in the long-running series. There is no doubt that FIFA 23 is a good game. It has amazing graphics, an immersive gameplay experience, and various game modes to keep you entertained. The only thing holding it back from being a great game is its lack of innovation.
While FIFA 23 improves upon previous entries in the series, it only does something new and exciting. Still, if you’re a fan of the series or looking for a good football game, FIFA 23 is worth checking out!
