College Football 2024 Week 6 TV and Announcer Schedule

The Razorbacks try to upend the Volunteers (ABC, Oct. 5 @ 7:30 p.m. ET). Despite just going on bye, Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson entered Week 6 leading the nation with 10 rushing touchdowns in 2024. Arkansas running back Ja’Quinden Jackson ranked eighth in the country with 472 yards.

A seldom-seen SEC showing pits Missouri (4-0, 1-0 SEC) against Texas A&M (4-1, 2-0) (ABC, Oct. 5 @ noon ET). The Aggies claimed victory in the last head-to-head 35-14 in Columbia, Mo., in 2021. Texas A&M comes off a 21-17 Southwest Classic victory versus Arkansas.

The Hawkeyes (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) try to secure a rare win in Columbus, Ohio, when they visit the No. 3 Buckeyes (4-0, 1-0) (CBS, Oct. 5 @ 3:30 p.m. ET). Ohio State picked up a 38-7 decision at Michigan State in its road opener Sep. 28. Iowa’s last win at Ohio State came in 1991.

7:00 PM: Texas State @ Troy (ESPNU)
Announcers: Dave Neal, Aaron Murray
The Bobcats (2-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) make a trip to play the Trojans (1-4, 0-1). Texas State’s offense is guided by well-traveled quarterback Jordan McCloud’s arm, as the former South Florida, Arizona and James Madison quarterback boasts 12 TD passes.

9:00 PM: Sam Houston @ UTEP (CBSSN)
Announcers: Alex Del Barrio, Taylor McHargue
The Bearkats (4-1, 1-0 CUSA) cross the Lone Star State to take on the Miners (0-4, 0-1). Last year, Sam Houston’s campaign reached its nadir as it lost 37-34 to UTEP to fall to 0-8 on the season. The Bearkats have won seven of nine games since.

7:00 PM: Jacksonville State @ Kennesaw State (CBSSN)
Announcers:
The Owls (0-4) dive into Conference USA play with this opener against the Gamecocks (1-3). Kennesaw State is still seeking the first win of its inaugural FBS season. Jacksonville State went 6-2 in its first run through C-USA last campaign.

7:30 PM: Houston @ TCU (ESPN)
Announcers: Anish Shroff, Andre Ware
The Cougars clash with the Horned Frogs. TCU ran its win streak versus Houston to nine games during their first meeting as Big 12 equals in 2023. Entering Week 6, TCU quarterback Josh Hoover ranked third nationally with 1,774 passing yards.

9:00 PM: Michigan State @ (6) Oregon (Fox)
Announcers: Jason Benetti, Brock Huard
The Spartans swim with the No. 6 Ducks. Oregon improved to 4-0 for the second straight year after beating UCLA 34-13 at the Rose Bowl in Week 5. Sixth-year Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel is second in FBS history with 163 total touchdowns created.

9:00 PM: Syracuse @ (25) UNLV (FS1)
Announcers: Trent Rush, Petros Papadakis
The No. 25 Rebels test their unbeaten record against the Orange. This is the first meeting between the schools. Hajj-Malik Williams took over for departed quarterback Matthew Sluka and threw three TD passes in UNLV’s win over Fresno State in Week 5.

The Bruins (1-3, 0-2 Big Ten) face another tough test as they challenge the No. 7 Nittany Lions (4-0, 1-0). Penn State stifled then-No. 19 Illinois for a 21-7 win Sept. 28. UCLA has dropped three in a row after falling to ranked foes LSU and Oregon.

12:00 PM: Southern Methodist @ (22) Louisville (ESPN)

The Mustangs match up with the No. 22 Cardinals for the first time in 40 years. In Week 5, SMU improved to 4-1 following a convincing win over Florida State. Louisville dropped in the national rankings after losing 31-24 at then-No. 16 Notre Dame.

The Panthers (4-0, 0-0 ACC) visit the Tar Heels (3-2, 0-1). Freshman Eli Holstein (PITT) threw for three TDs in all four games so far in 2024, and ran in two scores in the last outing against Youngstown State. North Carolina has dropped two in a row.

The Black Knights visit the Golden Hurricane. Army is 4-0 for the second time in four years after dominating Temple 42-14 on Sept. 26. Senior Army quarterback Bryson Daily has passed for three touchdowns and rushed for eight more scores this year.

The Wolfpack (3-2, 0-1) try to hand the ACC rival Demon Deacons (1-3, 0-1) a fourth straight loss. NC State comes off a strong defensive performance in a 24-17 triumph over Northern Illinois. Wake Forest has yielded 112 points during its slide.

12:00 PM: Purdue @ Wisconsin (BTN)

The Boilermakers bump heads with the Badgers at Camp Randall. Wisconsin has won 17 straight meetings, a run that dates back to 2004. On Sept. 28, Wisconsin’s Braedyn Locke lost in his first start since Tyler Van Dyke’s season-ending injury Sept. 14.

12:00 PM: Boston College @ Virginia (ACCN)

The Cavaliers host the Eagles. Boston College’s Grayson James, starting at quarterback in place of an injured Thomas Castellanos, led a come-from-behind win Sept. 28. Virginia’s only win over BC came in the Eagles’ last trip to Scott Stadium in 2020.

The Huskies take on the Minutemen. A season initially filled with promise for Northern Illinois has started to fade following losses to Buffalo and NC State. Northern Illinois put up 63 points in blowout victories over UMass in both 2012 and 2013.

The 49ers play host to the Pirates. East Carolina snapped a two-game slide by beating Texas-San Antonio 30-20 in its conference opener. Charlotte also stands at 1-0 in American Athletic Conference play after a last-minute one-point win at Rice.

3:30 PM: (23) Indiana @ Northwestern (BTN)

The unbeaten No. 23 Hoosiers (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) face the Wildcats (2-2, 0-1). First-year Indiana coach Curt Cignetti has the Hoosiers off to their best start since 1967, with Canadian quarterback and Ohio transfer Kurtis Rourke tossing 11 TD passes.

3:30 PM: Virginia Tech @ Stanford (ACCN)

New ACC adversaries in the Cardinal (2-2, 1-1) and Hokies (2-3, 0-1) meet for the second time. Virginia Tech has dropped two straight, to Rutgers and Miami, by a combined seven points. The Cardinal walloped the Hokies 40-12 in the 2011 Orange Bowl.

3:30 PM: Temple @ Connecticut (CBSSN)

The Huskies and Owls renew their rivalry. From 2004 to 2019, when the sides were on-and-off conference counterparts, Temple won seven of 12 matches. Skyler Bell totaled 153 receiving yards and three TDs in UConn’s 47-3 blowout of Buffalo on Sept. 28.

The Cornhuskers try to stay perfect against the undefeated Scarlet Knights in a Big Ten engagement. Nebraska has won all six meetings. Rutgers is 4-0 for the first time since 2012 after holding off Washington 21-18 in its conference opener.

4:15 PM: (1) Alabama @ Vanderbilt (SECN)

The No. 1 Crimson Tide roll into a game with the Commodores. Alabama comes off a statement 41-34 victory versus rival and then-No. 2 Georgia, which propelled Bama to the top of the AP Top 25 for the first time since October 2022.

6:30 PM: Colorado State @ Oregon State (CW)

Future conference rivals square off as the Beavers (3-1) host the Rams (2-2) at Reser Stadium. Colorado State was one of four Mountain West schools announced Sept. 12 to be moving to the Pac-12 for the 2026 season, joined by Utah State on Sept. 24.

7:00 PM: (15) Clemson @ Florida State (ESPN)

The No. 15 Tigers (3-1, 2-0) roll into an ACC road test against the rival Seminoles (1-4, 1-3). Clemson totaled 165 points in winning its last three games. Florida State snapped a seven-game series slide with a 31-24 triumph in overtime last season.

The Warhawks try to cool off the Dukes. James Madison followed up a wild 70-50 verdict at North Carolina on Sept. 21 by hanging 63 points on Ball State in Week 5. JMU quarterback Alonza Barnett III threw five TD passes in both of those victories.

The Golden Gophers (2-3, 0-2 Big Ten) seek their first win over the Trojans (3-1, 1-1) since 1955. Los Angeles native Miller Moss was tapped as Caleb Williams’ replacement for USC and the junior quarterback has responded with 1,198 passing yards.

The Wolf Pack begin Mountain West play against the Spartans. Both programs are coming off games versus Evergreen State schools, with San José State taking its first loss Sept. 20 at Washington State and Nevada besting Eastern Washington a day later.

7:45 PM: UCF @ Florida (SECN)

The Knights (3-1) try and bounce back from their first loss of the season when they visit the Gators (2-2). UCF’s unbeaten run came to an end in a 48-21 defeat against Colorado on Sept. 28. Florida aims to avenge a 29-17 loss to UCF from 2021.

8:00 PM: Kansas @ Arizona State (ESPN2)

The Sun Devils (3-1, 0-1) and Jayhawks (1-4, 0-2), fresh Big 12 foes, meet for the first time. Arizona State comes off a 30-22 loss at Texas Tech in its conference opener. Kansas is mired in a four-game slide after a 38-27 verdict versus TCU.

The Blue Devils visit the Yellow Jackets. On Sept. 28, Duke erased a 20-0 deficit by scoring 21 unanswered to capture the Victory Bell versus North Carolina. The Devils are off to their first 5-0 start since 1994. Georgia Tech is 2-0 at home.

The Rainbow Warriors (2-2) return to the mainland to visit the Aztecs (1-3) for a Mountain West opener. San Diego State has won four straight meetings. Hawaii comes off a 36-7 victory over FCS foe Northern Iowa. The Aztecs have lost three in a row.

The No. 8 Hurricanes (5-0, 1-0 ACC) travel to play the Golden Bears (3-1, 0-1). Heisman Trophy candidate Cam Ward tossed four TD passes, including the last two scores of the game, to lead Miami to a 38-34 comeback win over Virginia Tech on Sept. 28.

11:00 PM: Texas Tech @ Arizona (Fox)

The Wildcats (3-1, 1-0) and Red Raiders (4-1, 2-0) try to break through in a key Big 12 clash. Arizona properly introduced itself to the conference by stunning then-No. 10 Utah 23-10 in Salt Lake City on Sep. 28. Texas Tech has won three in a row.
