Sunday Overnights: Respectable for Fox Sitcom ‘Rel’

-Ratings Analysis:
NBC led the night, as expected, with the 24 to 23 win for Green Bay Packers over the Chicago Bears on “Sunday Night Football” at an estimated 14.2 rating/25 share in the household overnights. Results for any live sporting event are estimated. Comparably, this was 8 percent below the 15.4/25 on the year-ago evening for football.

Opposite football was the “2019 Miss America Competition” at a modest 2.9/ 5 from 9-11 on ABC, which slipped by 19 percent year-to-year.

In series premiere news was Fox sitcom “Rel,” which previewed at 8 p.m. (out of the 11.2/20 for post-football “The OT”) with a third-place 2.8/ 6. “Rel” moves into its regularly scheduled Sunday 8:30 p.m. time period on Sept. 30.

Also original last night was “Big Brother” on CBS at a 4.0/ 7 in the 8 p.m. hour. Note to Allison Grodner:
I personally do not think this should be any concern about the perennial reality/competition returning next season. The current ratings still warrant a renewal.

At the 7 p.m. half hour on Fox was the primetime football overrun at a 14.8/27.
