Tuesday Overnights: Clean Household Sweep for CBS

Ratings Breakdown:
It was a clean household overnight sweep for CBS care of its combination of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 7.8 rating/13 share at 8 p.m.), freshman “FBI” (6.5/11 at 9 p.m.) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (5.4/10 at 10 p.m.). “FBI,” no doubt, should have no trouble snagging a second season renewal.

In the specials department was “A Saturday Night Live Christmas” on NBC, which featured clips edition of holiday-themed segments and scored a moderate 3.1/ 5 from 9-11 p.m. Combined with lead-in “The Voice” (#2: 5.9/10 at 8 p.m.), however, and NBC is still the network to beat in adults 18-49.

On ABC, sitcom “The Conners” dipped to a series low 4.8/ 8 in the 8 p.m. half-hour, but this was still 23 percent above year-ago time period occupant “The Middle” (3.9/ 7 on 12/05/17) and it is still the network’s top-rated sitcom.

The rest of the overnight results for the evening on ABC – “The Kids Are Alright” (#3: 3.2/ 5 at 8:30 p.m.), “black-ish” (#3: 2.9/ 5 at 9 p.m.), “Splitting Up Together” (#3t: 2.2/ 4 at 9:30 p.m.) and “The Rookie” (#2: 3.2/ 6 at 10 p.m.) – were on par with recent overnight levels.
