ABC and Fox Hand Out the Pink Slips

Three Season Old Sitcom 'Sppechless' and Freshman 'The Kids Are Alright' Are 2 of the Casualties.

As of Friday, ABC announced it is not moving forward on new seasons of sitcoms Speechless,” “The Kids Are Alright” and “Splitting Up” together; and dramas “The Fix” and “For the People.” Shondaland, which produced “For the People,” got better news with renewals for Thursday trio “Grey’s Anatomy” (which heads into season 16), spin-off “Station 19” and “How to Get Away With Murder.” Also returning on the alphabet net are freshman comedies “Single Parents” and “Bless This Mess,” and freshman crime solver “The Rookie” with Nathan Fillion.

Fox, meanwhile, has swung the proverbial axe freshman comedy “The Cool Kids” and drama “The Passage.”
