ABC Cancels Drama ‘Reef Break’

The Network Previously Announced its Other Summer Drama, 'Reef Break," Would Not Be Returning

ABC has opted against a second season of summer drama “Reef Break.” The series starred former “Without a Trace” star Poppy Montgomery as a former thief turned fixer for the government of an island paradise in the Pacific. Ray Stevenson, Desmond Chiam, Melissa Bonne and Tamala Shelton rounded off the regular cast. Ken Sanzel (“Numb3rs”) was the showrunner, and Montgomery was an executive producer.

“Reef Break” was one of two ABC summer 2019 scripted dramas that did not make it into a second season. The other was “Grand Hotel”

On the non-scripted side, the network has renewed all six of its summer game shows, including “Celebrity Family Feud,” “The $100,000 Pyramid,” “The MAtch Game,” “Card Sharks” and “Press Your Luck,” and the mini-golf competition “Holey Moley.”

The fate of the cooking competition “Family Food FIght” has yet to be determined.
