ABC Goes 80’s Retro For Its Program Promos

Several companies also advertised in 1980's mode

The “Live in Front of A Studio Audience” event, televised on ABC on Dec. 7, 2021, featured recreated episodes of “The Facts of Life” and, the show it spun-off from, “Diff’rent Strokes“.

During the 90-minute telecast, the network debuted on-air promos in their early 1980’s fashion.

Steve French, an on-air announcer for ABC’s “Match Game”, impersonated the late Ernie Anderson — the voice for most of ABC’s series promotions from four decades ago — for each promo of what’s upcoming on ABC.

Check out promos for the The Bachelor (set to “Three’s Company” theme), Station 19, The Rookie, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Big Sky, black-ish and Queens.
