ABC Renews Trio of Thursday Night Shondaland Dramas

'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Scandal' and 'How to Get Away with Murder' All Confirmed to Return

ABC has issued early renewals for 2017-18 to Thursday night Shonda Rhimes dramas “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder.” This will take “Grey’s Anatomy” into season 14, where it will reach the 300-episode mark, “Scandal” into season seven, and “How to Get Away with Murder” into season four. And, comparably, this will put “Grey’s Anatomy” in a tie (with “Knots Landing” and “Bonanza”) as the seventh longest running scripted drama in the history of television behind “Gunsmoke” and “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Lassie,” and “ER” and “CSI.”

All three shows hail from ABC Studios, and are executive produced by Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers. “HTGAWM” is created by Pete Nowalk. There is no news if the trio will remain scheduled together on Thursday.
