ABC Trims ‘Notorious’ Episode Order to 10

The proverbial axe has not swung…yet. But ABC has trimmed the episode of struggling freshman Thursday drama “Notorious” from 13 to 10, signaling that the end is near. Ratings for the most recent episode — 3.89 million viewers and a 0.9 rating/3 share in adults 18-49 (out of 8.17 million viewers and a 2.1/ 8 in the demo for lead-in “Grey’s Anatomy,” based on the Live + Same Day data) — warranted the episode reduction.

ABC, of course, has former time period occupant “Scandal” waiting in the midseason wings to replace “Notorious.” But with recent drama entry “Conviction” struggling on Monday, mixed results for its Tuesday comedy block, “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” off the charts, “How To Get Away With Murder” losing steam, and a Sunday line-up that has all but collapsed, there are problems aplenty at the Mouse House.
