ABC’s ‘Scandal’ to Return for Season Six on Jan. 19

Temporary Time Period Replacement 'Notorious' is One of the Biggest New Flops of the TV Season

The long-awaited sixth season-premiere of ABC drama “Scandal,” which was delayed due to star Kerry Washington’s pregnancy, will be on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. out of the return of new episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” and into “How To Get Away With Murder.” Current occupant “Notorious,” which had its season one episode order pared down from 13 to 10 installments, has virtually collapsed in the time period, causing aforementioned lead-out “How To Get Away With Murder” to slip by double-digit percentages from one year earlier.

Most recently, “Notorious” scored just 3.17 million viewers and a 0.8 rating/8 share, based on the Live + Same Day data on Oct. 27. Comparably, that put the retention for “Notorious” out of “Grey’s Anatomy” (Viewers: 8.17 million; A18-49: 2.2/ 8 at 8 p.m. ET) of only 39 percent in total viewers and 26 percent in the demo.
