Ratings Breakdown:

It was the typical overnight scenario on Monday, with “Dancing with the Stars” leading ABC to household victory and “The Voice” lifting NBC to guaranteed dominance in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics). “Dancing with the Stars” scored a 7.1 rating/12 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m., which led the evening but was 12 percent below the 8.1/13 on the year-ago night. And competing “The Voice” was closer to year-ago overnight levels with a 5.9/10.

Despite the lead-in support, “Scorpion” on CBS remains the show to beat at 10 p.m. with a 4.9/ 9. Next was an installment of NBC game show “The Wall” at a 3.1/ 5, followed by ABC’s deteriorating “Quantico” at a 1.9/ 3. “Quantico,” unfortunately, was never the same after foolish ABC put it on a three month hiatus last season.

On CBS, sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” concluded its first season at a third-place 3.9/ 7 in the 8 p.m. half-hour. For fans of “The King of Queens” like myself, “Kevin Can Wait” was a welcome arrival this season. And this led into a 3.5/ 6 in the household overnights for compatible “Man with a Plan” at 8:30 p.m. (#2), which concludes its first season next week.

Next on CBS was the season finale of “Superior Donuts” at a 3.3/ 5 in the 9 p.m. half-hour (#3), which in season one felt like “Cheers” set in a donut shop. And that led into what was likely the series finale of “The Great Indoors,” which scored a not-so-great 2.7/ 4 (#3) at 9:30 p.m. Given the steep erosion for “The Great Indoors” out of “The Big Bang Theory,” there is no reason to expect a second season.

Elsewhere, “Supergirl” on The CW was on the overnight map with a 1.3/ 2 at 8 p.m., but lead-out “Jane the Virgin” slipped to a 0.7/ 1 at 9 p.m. And Fox was out of the competitive loop with its pairing of “Gotham” (#4: 2.1/ 3) and recent returnee “Lucifer” (#4: 2.3/ 4).
