A&E Extends Episode Order for ‘Live PD’

Season One to Now Feature 21 Episodes

A&E has extended the episode order of the current first season of “Live PD,” hosted by Dan Abrams, to 21 episodes. Debuting on Oct. 28, “Live PD,” airing live (albeit on a tape delay because of the unpredictable nature of law enforcement activity), showcases the policing of America by following six diverse police departments in real time as they patrol their communities on a Friday night. New episodes continue Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET with two extra episodes on Saturday, February 4 and February 11 at 9 p.m.

Since its premiere, “Live PD’” has averaged 1.1 million total viewers a week in Live+7 viewing, outperforming A&E’s regular primetime average by 29 percent in total viewers. The series has also been nominated for a Director’s Guild Award in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Reality Programs category.

David Doss, former news executive producer at CNN, ABC and NBC, serves as show runner for the series.

    • I actually caught it live on Friday night back in December and loved it, I haven’t seen it since but I’ll try to catch it one of these weeks. It reminded me so much of a live EP of Cops as well. This could actually live forever and so will Cops which is still living on Spike these days and still syndicated heavily.

      • Yup Cops is on WXSP for a full hour from 1AM to 2AM been on WXSP like forever since it has been on cable where I live since 01 mainly late night. I agree Live PD will be on for years to come as I see A&E extending the order.

        • Yeah it’s actually still in syndication on a couple of local stations in my area. Live PD might just decide to have this be a full 52-week show to solve their Fridays and they might even leave room to do a Saturday night edition on one of their sister networks.
