AMC Drama ‘Preacher’ to Debut on Sunday, May 22

Ten Episodes Ordered in Season One

Upcoming AMC drama “Preacher” will premiere Sunday, May 22nd at 10 p.m. ET following the mid-season finale of “Fear the Walking Dead.” An encore presentation of the pilot episode will air the following Sunday, May 29th with back-to-back airings beginning at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will resume on Sunday, June 5th in the 9 p.m. ET regular time period.

Based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s 1990’s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher” from Sony Pictures Television is described as a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a West Texas preacher who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from heaven, hell and everywhere in between. “Preacher” also stars Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Anatol Yusef, Tom Brooke, Derek Wilson and Ian Colletti.
