Apple Orders Musical Dramedy ‘Little Voice’

Ten Episodes Ordered for a Presumed Debuted in 2019

Apple has given a straight-to-series 10 episode order to the half-hour dramedy “Little Voices” from J.J. Abrams, Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson. The series is described as a love letter to the diverse musicality of New York which explores the universal journey of finding your authentic voice in your early 20s. Bareilles, who is hosting the upcoming 72nd Tony Awards, will provide original music.  

Jessie Nelson (“I Am Sam,” “Stepmom”) will write and direct the first episode and serve as showrunner for “Little Voice,” which comes from Warner Bros TV and Abrams’ studio-based Bad Robot Prods.
