Apple TV+ Close to Ordering Season 4 of ‘Ted Lasso’

It is not official…yet. But Apple TV+ is reportedly thisclose to greenlighting Emmy Award-winning comedy “Ted Lass” for a fourth season. Warner Bros. Television has picked up the options for three of the show’s stars, covered by Equity contracts: Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift and Brett Goldstein are all set for a return. The trio starred as Rebecca Welton, Roy Kent and Leslie Higgins, respectively, in the acclaimed comedy about an American coach (Jason Sudeikis) hired to lead an English soccer team.

Once those options are secured, the studio would have to create new deals for the show’s other main actors, who are represented by SAG-AFTRA. This includes co-creators/executive producers and stars Jason Sudeilis, Brendan Hunt and Juno Temple. Other series regulars in season tree of “Ted Lasso” included Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed, Anthony Head, Tobeeb Jimoh, Cristo Fernandez, Kola Bokinni, Billy Harris and James Lance.

In May 2023, what was intended to be the series finale saw Sudeikis as Ted Lasso leave AFC Richmond and go home to the United States, seemingly concluding his story. If the negotiations go smoothly, the expectations of a fourth season of “Ted Lasso” as for an early 2025 start.
