Ratings Breakdown:
“The World Series,” which could have been five games to Fox’s dismay is now a seven game match-up, with the final game airing this evening. The 9-3 victory for the Cubs over the Indians in Game 6 last night resulted in an estimated 14.8 rating/24 share in the household overnights from 8-11:45 p.m. ET.

Despite ducking the increased competition with all repeats, CBS still managed to finish second overall with its older-skewing encore combination of “NCIS” (#2: 6.8/11), “Bull” (#3: 5.2/ 8) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (#2: 4.6/ 8).

NBC opened with a clips edition of “The Voice” at a respectable 4.5/ 7 (#3) at 8 p.m. But what was particularly impressive was recent entry “This Is Us” at a 5.9/ 9 (#2) at 9 p.m., which built from the 8:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (4.3/ 6) by 37 percent and was right on par with last week despite facing “The World Series.”

Next on the Peacock net was “Chicago Fire” at a third-place 4.4/ 7 in the 10 p.m. hour, which was also consistent despite the added competition.

Elsewhere, ABC remains acceptable for now in the Tuesday 8 p.m. hour care of sitcoms “The Middle” (#3: 3.8/ 6) and newbie “American Housewife” (#3: 3.5/ 5). But the 9-11 p.m. combination of “Fresh Off the Boat” (#4: 2.4/ 4), “The Real O’Neals” (#4: 1.8/ 3) and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (#4: 1.8/ 3) is just not working.

On The CW, “The Flash” remains the net’s top-rated show at a 2.2/ 3 in the household overnights at 8 p.m., but overnight slippage of 73 percent for recent entry “No Tomorrow” at 9 p.m. (#5: 0.6/ 1) is way too severe.
