‘Bates Motel’ to End on A&E After Season Five

Rihanna Joins the Cast in the Final Season

A&E drama “Bates Motel,” the prequel to classic 1960 Alfred Hitchcock theatrical “Psycho,” will officially conclude after five seasons (and 50 episodes). Comparably, this will now be the longest running scripted series in A&E history. Joining the cast in the final season is singer Rihanna as Marion Crane, who was played by Janet Leigh, of course, in “Psycho.”

By the end of this past fourth season, Norma (Vera Farmiga) was dead, Norma dug up her corpse and brought it home, and Norman (Freddie Highmore) is about to “become” his mother. Be careful, Rihanna!
