Best Game Show-Themed Live Casino Games (2022)

The live casino niche has become wildly popular in recent years (as witnessed at spela utan spelpaus). The leading provider – Evolution Gaming – started off repackaging classic casino games like roulette, blackjack, live poker, and baccarat into a virtual dealer environment. But in the last few years, the studio has even embraced popular TV shows, particularly game show formats, and turned them into real money casino titles. What are the best of these to play in 2022? Read on to find our top live game show picks.

Deal or No Deal Live

Deal or No Deal is a game show which has drawn passionate fans from both sides of the Atlantic. In the TV version, the player much choose a briefcase from a selection of 26 – each of which has a pre-defined value between $0.01 to $1,000,000. As the unchosen cases are revealed, and the tension mounts, a mysterious banker will make offers to the player. This is actually quite similar to card counting in games like blackjack and poker, and Deal or No Deal is thus popular among gambling fans and the general public alike. It also means minimal adaptations are needed to bring it to the live casino environment, and Evolution Gaming have basically copied it directly to their games lobby. If you thought watching at home was exciting, just wait until you have to make the decisions.

Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher was the first game show-style live dealer title from Evolution Gaming and involves a presenter spinning a multi-colored wheel made up of segments with various prizes marked on it. If that sounds uncannily like the famous Wheel of Fortune TV game show, then you are right – as this one is very similar. Players bet on which number will land next (with a choice of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, or 40), with winning numbers having a corresponding prize. It’s such a simple dynamic that any new player can easily grasp it.

Monopoly Live

The board game Monopoly has not actually had a successful TV game show built around it, so Evolution could be said to have invented the first ever popular adaptation, in cooperation with Hasbro. In this one, we again start off with the Dream Catcher wheel, which now has the additional segment of a chance icon added to it. When it lands, then we enter a 3D Monopoly board, where Rich Uncle Pennybags wanders around the screen, winning money for you, if you are lucky.

Evolution have been masterful in identifying a gap in the casino market. Not everyone actually wants to play classic casino games such as blackjack, poker, or even roulette. But now they can choose to have a small gamble while playing thrilling versions of their favorite game shows. Of course, they also need to gamble responsibly, which is why they should choose a licensed casino rather than an offshore operator. That can be tricky in the US right now, as only 6 states have fully legalized online casinos thus far. But we expect this number to grow in 2022, and for Evolution’s live game shows to be available in those states soon after. Which of the above games would you play first?
