The Masked Singer is one of the biggest TV hits of the last few years, with millions of UK fans tuning in on a Saturday night to see which celebrities are donning various weird costumes.
Many other reality TV shows have been available to bet on in the past, such as Big Brother and Love Island but fans might not realise that it is now also possible to bet on The Masked Singer.
Here is everything that you need to know about betting on The Masked Singer in the UK.
What is The Masked Singer?
The Masked Singer is a reality show that works just how the name of the TV series suggests. Celebrities wear a range of wild costumes, like a panda outfit or even a traffic cone, under which they sing popular songs. The aim of the game is to work out which stars are in which costumes.
The Masked Singer is based on an initial concept from Asia, with the series’ roots dating back to a South Korean version of the show: King of Mask Singer. In the UK, The Masked Singer was first shown on ITV at the start of 2021 and there have been three series so far, with a confirmed commission for a fourth and a fifth series. Joel Dommett hosts the UK series with Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora among the top stars to have been its judges.
The Masked Singer in the UK is pre-taped, which means the outcome has already been decided by the time the series airs. However, this does not mean it is not possible to bet on The Masked Singer, with other reality TV series such as The Apprentice also having been pre-taped as well.
Not only is The Masked Singer a huge commercial hit, it is very popular with critics too. It won an International Emmy for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment in 2021. As a result of The Masked Singer being wildly popular, many countries have developed their own version of the show.
In the UK, there is a spin-off format, The Masked Dancer, which has also been a hit for ITV and, as it was recently recommissioned for a second season, is likely to be offered for betting as well. Betting on The Masked Singer has become one of the most popular reality TV show markets.

When is The Masked Singer Back on TV?
People who are looking forward to having a bet on The Masked Singer will be eagerly awaiting the next ITV series of the show, but the bad news is that it is not expected to return until 2023.
When announcing The Masked Singer will be back for more series, ITV head of entertainment commissioning Katie Rawcliffe said: “The Masked Singer has once again established itself as unmissable event television, keeping the nation guessing throughout its glorious eight week run. We’re already counting down to see who’s hiding behind those infamous masks in 2023 and look forward to welcoming the series back to ITV and ITV Hub next year.”
Fans of The Masked Singer will certainly be looking forward to seeing who can follow in the footsteps of the show’s previous winners. Intriguingly, for those who want to bet on The Masked Singer, each of the three UK series has been won by a female professional singer, with Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts triumphing in the inaugural series, shown at the start of 2020.
Joss Stone then won as “Sausage” with the third series won by Natalie Imbruglia as “Panda”.
