CBS Halftime Report at AFC Championship Becomes Nearly Inaudible

It was supposed to be like many other first-half recaps during NFL halftime on CBS. The crew from “The NFL Today” of James Brown, Bill Cowher, Phil Simms, Nate Burleson and Boomer Esiason were on the field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, the site of the AFC Championship Game on Jan. 30, 2022 for the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs.

Unfortunately for the crew, as well as for viewers, their desk was situated by an on-the-field speaker that was blasting the music of halftime act, country singer Walker Hayes.

Esiason, who could barely hear anything, said: “I don’t know if you guys said this yet or not…”

Brown then indicated his daughter advised he should work on his sign language.

Burleson concluded: “It’s a party here in KC, baby!”
