Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped this third January Monday in the household overnights with its drama combination of “Supergirl” (#1t: 5.4 rating/8 share), which is a shoo-in for a second season renewal, “Scorpion” (#1 for the night: 7.2/11) and “NCIS: Los Angeles” (#2: 6.4/11). But a 5.3/ 8 for “The Bachelor” from 8-10 p.m. should be enough for ABC to potentially win the evening in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics).

Post show “The Bachelor Live” on ABC scored a second-place 2.9/ 5 in the 10 p.m. hour, which was 21 percent above the second hour of competing “The Biggest Loser” on NBC (2.4/ 4).

NBC opened on a stable note care of recently introduced sitcoms “Superstore” (#3: 3.6/ 5 at 8 p.m.), which is also a lock for a second season renewal, and “Telenovela” (#4: 2.6/ 4 at 8:30 p.m.), which slipped from “Superstore” by a too extensive 28 percent. And they led into aforementioned “The Biggest Loser” at a slim 2.3/ 4 from 9-11 p.m. At this point, it might be wise to give “The Biggest Loser” a rest.

Elsewhere, two hours of “MasterChef Celebrity Showdown” on Fox averaged a 2.9/ 4 from 8-10 p.m. And The CW populated the evening with 90-minute special “Just For Laughs Starring Howie Mandel” (#%: 1.1/ 2 from 8-9:30 p.m.) and an encore telecast of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” at 9:30 p.m. (#5: 0.7/ 1).
