College Football 2024 Week 5 TV and Announcer Schedule

Perennial powers in the No. 2 Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) and No. 4 Crimson Tide (3-0, 0-0) renew their raging rivalry (ABC, Sep. 28 @ 7:30 p.m. ET). Alabama has won seven of the last eight meetings with the Georgia triumph coming in the 2021 season national championship game.

The No. 9 Nittany Lions host the No. 19 Fighting Illini for a battle of Big Ten unbeatens (NBC, Sep. 28 @ 7:30 p.m. ET). Penn State is averaging 41.3 points per game. Illinois seeks its first 5-0 start since 2011 after prevailing at then-No. 22 Nebraska 31-24 in overtime.

7:30 PM: Army @ Temple (ESPN)
Announcers: Matt Barrie, Dan Mullen
The Black Knights (3-0, 2-0 American) play the Owls (1-3, 0-1) at Lincoln Financial Field. Quarterback Bryson Daily accounted for all five of Army’s touchdowns in a 37-14 win over Rice on Sept. 21. Temple got on the board by beating Utah State 45-29.

7:30 PM: Virginia Tech @ (7) Miami (FL) (ESPN)
Announcers: Anish Shroff, Andre Ware
The No. 7 Hurricanes host the Hokies. Miami won 16 of 31 meetings with Virginia Tech from 1992-2022 before the rivalry took a year off in 2023. Miami is 4-0 for a second straight season. Entering Week 5, Cam Ward’s (MIA) 14 TD passes led the nation.

8:00 PM: Washington @ Rutgers (Fox)
Announcers: Tim Brando, Devin Gardner
The Scarlet Knights (3-0, 0-0 Big Ten) host the Huskies (3-1, 1-0). Rutgers remained undefeated by hitting a field goal with 1:56 to play versus Virginia Tech. Washington won its first taste of Big Ten action by shutting down Northwestern 24-5.

12:00 PM: Kentucky @ (6) Ole Miss (ABC)
Announcers: Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy
The Wildcats visit the No. 6 Rebels. Entering Week 5, Ole Miss has averaged 55 points per game on offense and 5.5 ppg on defense, both tops in the nation. Jaxson Dart (MISS) led FBS with 1,554 passing yards. Ole Miss beat Kentucky 22-19 in 2022.

12:00 PM: Minnesota @ (12) Michigan (Fox)
Announcers: Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt
The No. 12 Wolverines host the Golden Gophers. In Week 4, Michigan switched to Alex Orji at quarterback, but the ground game starred in a win over then-No. 11 USC. Kalel Mullings (MICH) hit 150 rushing yards and two TDs for the second straight match.

12:00 PM: (20) Oklahoma State @ (23) Kansas State (ESPN)
Announcers: Bob Wischusen, Louis Riddick
No. 20 Oklahoma State plays No. 23 Kansas State. Both schools fell to 3-1, 0-1 with losses in their Big 12 openers. Last year, the Cowboys won for a fourth time in five meetings. However, the Wildcats walked all over the Cowboys 48-0 at home in 2022.

The unbeaten Midshipmen roll into Birmingham, Ala., for a matchup with the Blazers. Dual-threat quarterback Blake Horvath has rushed for seven TDs and thrown for five more in helping Navy put up 143 points through its first three contests.

12:00 PM: (22) BYU @ Baylor (FS1)
Announcers: Alex Faust, Robert Smith
The No. 22 Cougars hit the road for a matchup with the Bears. BYU thumped then-No. 13 Kansas State 38-9 on Sept. 21 to crack the AP Top 25 for the first time in two years. Baylor fell to 2-2 with a loss in an overtime thriller at Colorado.

12:00 PM: South Florida @ Tulane (ESPNU)

A pair of 2-2 sides open their American Athletic Conference campaigns as the Green Wave host the Bulls. Tulane totaled 131 points in winning the last three meetings. Kelley Joiner (USF) averages seven yards per carry and has scored four TDs in 2024.

The Huskies hunt with the Wolfpack. Northern Illinois was dropped from the AP Top 25, its first appearance in 11 years, following a 23-20 setback in overtime versus Buffalo. NC State has won six straight at home, and is 2-0 in Raleigh, N.C., in 2024.

The Hoosiers (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) host the Terrapins (3-1, 0-1). Entering Week 5, Maryland’s Tai Felton ranked second among wide receivers nationwide with 41 grabs and third with 604 yards. Indiana sat fifth in FBS at 50.5 points per game on offense.

12:00 PM: Western Kentucky @ Boston College (ACCN)

The Hilltoppers head for the Heights to fly with the Eagles for the first time. Western Kentucky rides a three-game win streak since a season-opening 63-0 loss to Alabama. Boston College also sits 3-1 following a 23-19 victory over Michigan State.

The Badgers link up with the Trojans. Both clubs come off losses to ranked opponents in their last outings. Wisconsin beat USC for the first time in the 2015 Holiday Bowl. USC senior Woody Marks has cracked 100 yards rushing in two straight contests.

The Buffaloes roam into the Sunshine State for a Big 12 meeting with the Knights. Colorado comes off a 38-31 victory over Baylor that featured a Hail Mary touchdown pass by Shedeur Sanders and a game-ending forced fumble by Travis Hunter in overtime.

3:30 PM: Fresno State @ UNLV (FS1)

The Rebels run into their Mountain West opener against the Bulldogs. Fresno State has won six straight meetings after a 31-24 decision in California in 2023. UNLV last played Sept. 13, when it beat Kansas 23-20 for its first 3-0 start since 1984.

Georgia Southern and Georgia State compete in the first edition of the Georgia Grown Bowl. The Eagles ended a three-game Modern Day Hate slide in 2023. Canadian quarterback Christian Veilleux (GAST) has six touchdown passes in three games.

The Ragin’ Cajuns try to shake a tough loss when they visit the Demon Deacons. Louisiana Lafayette’s perfect season ended Sept. 21 after going back-and-forth with Tulane in a 41-33 setback. Wake Forest’s Hank Bachmeier has four TD passes in 2024.

The Chippewas host the Aztecs. In Week 4, Central Michigan leveled its record at 2-2 by outlasting Ball State 37-34. Chris Parker (CMU) had two TDs, including the game-winner. The Aztecs clobbered the Chippewas 48-11 in the 2019 New Mexico Bowl.

The Wildcats (2-1) play their first Big 12 game, against a former Pac-12 rival in the No. 10 Utes (4-0). Arizona snapped a six-game series slide with a 42-18 victory last season. Utah won its Big 12 opener, 22-19 at then-No. 14 Oklahoma State.

The No. 8 Ducks and Bruins renew their rivalry. Oregon won the final four meetings between the two as Pac-12 members. UCLA lost its Big Ten introduction, and comes off a loss to then-No. 16 LSU. Oregon beat rival Oregon State 49-14 on Sept. 14.
