College Football 2024 Week 9 TV and Announcer Schedule

The Ducks (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) are No. 1 for the first time since 2012 as they host the No. 20 Fighting Illini (6-1, 3-1) (CBS, Oct. 26 @ 3:30 p.m. ET). The new conference foes last met in 1995. Illinois owns three wins over ranked opponents after beating then-No. 24 Michigan 21-7.

The No. 15 Crimson Tide (5-2, 2-2 SEC) seek their sixth straight victory over the No. 21 Tigers (6-1, 2-1) (ABC, Oct. 26 @ 3:30 p.m. ET). Alabama is saddled with two losses by the end of October for the first time since 2007 following a 24-17 setback at then-No. 11 Tennessee.

The No. 12 Fighting Irish (6-1) try to spoil the perfect record of the No. 24 Midshipmen (6-0) at MetLife Stadium (ABC, Oct. 26 @ noon ET). Notre Dame has won 11 of the last 12 against Navy after scoring a 42-3 decision in Dublin last year. Navy beat Notre Dame here in 2010.

A key SEC clash sees the No. 14 Aggies (6-1, 4-0) face the No. 8 Tigers (6-1, 3-0) (ABC, Oct. 26 @ 7:30 p.m. ET). The two are the lone remaining schools with perfect SEC marks. Texas A&M has won three straight home meetings, with LSU’s last win in College Station coming in 2016.

The No. 3 Nittany Lions (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) try to maintain their grip on the surging Badgers (5-2, 3-1) (NBC, Oct. 26 @ 7:30 p.m. ET). Penn State has won five straight meetings, four by one score. Wisconsin’s win streak reached three with a 23-3 decision at Northwestern.

The No. 25 Commodores are ranked for the first time in 11 seasons as they host the No. 5 Longhorns for an SEC game (SEC Network, Oct. 26 @ 4:15 p.m. ET). Vanderbilt has won three in a row, its longest such streak since 2017. Texas fell from No. 1 after a 30-15 loss to then-No. 5 Georgia.

The Gamecocks charge into battle with the Blue Raiders. Jacksonville State has piled up 161 points during its three-game winning streak. Gamecocks running back Tre Stewart scored nine touchdowns in that span, rushing for 348 yards in the process.

The Monarchs host the Eagles. Last year, Old Dominion beat Georgia Southern for the first time, 20-17 behind an Ethan Sanchez field goal as time expired. Georgia Southern brings a three-game win streak into this date, while ODU has won two straight.

7:30 PM: Syracuse @ (19) Pittsburgh (ESPN)
Announcers: Matt Barrie, Dan Mullen
The No. 19 Panthers and the Orange return from the bye. Pittsburgh is 6-0 for the first time since 1982 after surviving California 17-15 on Oct. 12. Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord enters Week 9 ranked seventh nationally with 2,160 passing yards.

The Bulldogs (3-2, 0-2 Ivy) go up against the Quakers (2-3, 0-2) from Franklin Field. On Oct. 19, Yale stepped out of league play for a 38-23 win over Lehigh. Yale is 51-37-1 all-time versus Pennsylvania in a rivalry series first contested in 1879.

The Cardinals fly into Chestnut Hill, Mass., for an avian affair with the Eagles. On Oct. 19, Louisville fell short of an upset of No. 6 Miami in a 52-45 setback. Tyler Shough (LOU) has 18 TD passes in 2024. Louisville doubled up BC 56-28 in 2023.

Ashton Jeanty and the No. 15 Broncos return to action against the Rebels. Jeanty’s 1,248 rushing yards and 17 TDs are tops among FBS running backs, and he is outpacing the historic 1988 season of Oklahoma State legend Barry Sanders through six games.

ACC sides on slides collide as Omarion Hampton and the Tar Heels visit the Cavaliers. North Carolina has lost four straight, while Virginia’s slide stands at two. Hampton, a junior, was fourth nationally entering Week 9 with 901 rushing yards.

The No. 13 Hoosiers (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) try to continue their best start since 1967 as they host the Huskies (4-3, 2-2). Indiana, which hasn’t trailed in 2024, comes off a 56-7 annihilation of Nebraska, equaling its most lopsided conference victory.

The Yellow Jackets take on the Hokies. Virginia Tech leads the all-time series 11-8, but Georgia Tech won the last battle 28-27 on Nov. 5, 2022. Zach Pyron, who filled in for the injured Haynes King on Oct. 19, totaled two TDs in that 2022 outing.

Ohio hosts Buffalo. Both teams are 4-3 overall, 2-1 in MAC play, and coming off a loss in Week 8. The Bobcats beat the Bulls 20-10 in 2023, and 45-24 in the last meeting at Peden Stadium in 2022. Anthony Tyus III (OHIO) has five rushing TDs in 2024.

The Terrapins line up against the Golden Gophers. Maryland’s Billy Edwards Jr. came into Week 9 ranked eighth in the nation with 2,113 passing yards. The senior quarterback scored a last-minute touchdown to push Maryland past USC 29-28 on Oct. 19.
