Comedy ‘Nancy Wu Does It’ in Development at Amazon Prime

Streamer Amazon Prime has won the bidding wars in a potential new comedy called “Nancy Wu Does It.” Described as “Pleasantville” meets “Nancy Drew,” the series follows a frustrated Asian American YA novelist (Jessica Henwick) who suddenly finds herself transported to one of her own books and must work with the titular character she created — and now hates — to solve an unfinished mystery.

“Nancy Wu Does It” comes from Amazon Studios in association with Vertigo Entertainment. Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo will serve as executive producer Kai Yu Wu and Jessica Henwick are set to co-write the series and executive produce alongside Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. The comedy is a co-production between Amazon Studios and Vertigo.
