Crystal Palace Breaks Ties With W88 Sponsor

Club in the Premier League Crystal Palace has decided to immediately drop online gaming company W88 as a front-of-shirt sponsor.

The decision to break connections with W88 comes as the UK gaming sector prepares to publish a white paper that is anticipated to recommend an outright change in gaming sponsorship in sports. The club’s announcement, however, did not mention the prospective suspension influencing the decision to seek a new sponsor.

Currently, a gaming corporation sponsors nine of the English Premier League’s 20 clubs on the front of their shirts. Following Crystal Palace’s declaration, that number will now be reduced to eight, with the possibility of further reductions before the start of the Premier League season in August.

The club also announced a new partnership with online vehicle vendor Cinch to replace W88. Cinch will be the front-of-shirt sponsor for both the men’s and women’s teams and the club’s training outfit.

Crystal Palace’s Commercial Director, Barry Webber, commented on the new agreement:

“Cinch is a strong, family-friendly, and immediately recognizable brand in the uk and beyond, and this landmark partnership is another statement of progress at the club, on and off the field.”

This is an exciting time to start our partnership, as we enter our tenth consecutive season in the premier league with a squad full of international talent.”

Avril Palmer-Baunack, Chair of Constellation Automotive Group, the company that owns Cinch, added:

“Next season, we’re looking forward to working with the teams, fans, and local community, and we have high hopes that the club will win it all.”
