‘Dallas’ Star Morgan Woodward Dies at 93

Character Actor Also Remembered for Appearances on 'Star Trek,' 'Gunsmoke' and Theatrical 'Cool Hand Luke'

Character actor Morgan Woodward, who is known for his recurring role as Marvin “Punk” Anderson on the original “Dallas,” and in two episodes of “Star Trek” and 1967 theatrical “Cool Hand Luke, passed away Friday at the age of 93.

Born Thomas Morgan Woodward on September 16, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas, Woodward’s career spanned 40 years, with appearances in more than 250 movies and TV shows. Included were the most guest-starring roles historically in westerns “Gunsmoke” (with 19), and “Wagon Train” (with 11).

In later years, Woodward split most of his time between a ranch in Paso Robles and a home in Hollywood, according to his website.
