‘Dark Shadows’ Sequel in the Works on The CW

The Official Title is 'Dark Shadow: Reurrections'

The CW is developing a sequel to classic supernatural daytime drama “Dark Shadows” called “Dark Shadows: Resurrections.” Set in modern-day Collinsport, Maine, the tone of “Dark Shadows: Resurrections” will reportedly “harken back to the original,” with Mark B. Perry (“Revenge,” “Brothers & Sisters”) penning the pilot.

Originally created by Dan Curtis, “Dark Shadows” debuted on ABC in 1966 and brought vampires, ghosts and zombies to daytime TV, amassing a loyal viewership cult following for five seasons. The show depicted the lives, loves, trials and tribulations of the wealthy Collins family, where a number of supernatural occurrences take place.NBC aired a short-lived remake in primetime in 1991, and The WB developed a new version in 2004 that did not make it past the pilot stage.

In 2012, “Dark Shadows” made it to the big screen, with Tim Burton directing and Johnny Depp starring as vampire Barnabas Collins. This potential new version on The CW is from Warner Bros. Television.
