The Daytime Emmy Awards: And the Winners Were…

ABC’s veteran “General Hospital” took home four Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, at the ceremony hosted by Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California last night. Steve Harvey won two trophies, for Outstanding Game Show Host (“Family Feud”) and Outstanding Talk Show/Informative Host (“The Steve Harvey Show”). The women of CBS’ “The Talk” were named Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts, while “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Dr. Oz,” both in syndication, were cited for Outstanding Talk/Entertainment and Outstanding Talk/Informative. Ellen’s victory came 20 years to the day of her famous coming out on ABC sitcom “Ellen.”

“Jeopardy!,” meanwhile, was named Outstanding Game Show and “The Bold and the Beautiful‘s” Scott Clifton made Daytime Emmy history by winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and becoming the first actor to have won awards throughout his career in the Younger Actor, Supporting Actor and Lead Actor categories.
